Biography

"D.G. Gotart | Artist, Landscape Architect & Regenerative Practitioner

Dominika Grzybowska, working under the artistic name D.G. Gotart, is a Polish multidisciplinary artist, landscape architect and regenerative practitioner working between Amsterdam and the Algarve.

Her practice connects art, landscape, design and human development. Through painting, digital art, ecological design, movement and creative workshops, she explores the relationship between nature, perception, emotion and wellbeing.

Dominika began painting in 2004, developing an intuitive visual language inspired by organic forms, colour and the subconscious. She later expanded her practice into photography, computer-aided art, digital fabrication and mixed-media work.

She studied Landscape Architecture at Cracow University of Technology, graduating in 2011, and founded Gotart Studio in Amsterdam in 2015. Her landscape projects focus on ecological planting, water-sensitive design, soil regeneration and the creation of environments that support both people and living systems.

Since 2022, she has also contributed to Orange Eco Land, a regenerative development project in the Algarve, combining landscape architecture, ecological restoration and sustainable land use.

Dominika has facilitated creative workshops since the mid-2000s. Her Painting–Dancing Workshops combine intuitive painting, movement and music, encouraging participants to explore creativity through the body and the senses.

Her ongoing interest in psychology, expressive arts and embodied creativity led her to begin postgraduate studies in Art Therapy at Metàfora in Barcelona in 2026.

Across her different fields of work, Dominika explores the connection between inner experience and the environments we create and inhabit.

“Art becomes healing when authenticity is allowed to speak without fear.”

Gotart

"During 5 months in India my only camera was a 3 coloured plastic HOLGA. I fell in love not only with this toy camera, or lomography, but with the way people (especially kids) reacted to it – With a huge smile!

That's why I feel nostalgia every time I have an analog camera in my hands."

Fine Art

"The power of creation can save us. I know because I experienced it. There is no doubt about the healing power of art!

During my journey my creations were transforming together with me. What was done yesterday couldn’t be created today. And what is created today, is impossible to create tomorrow

I kept my art far away from academic principles, in order to be free in the proces of creation and to make art an intuitive process of getting to know myself better and better.

“Art is Freedom”/Art as freedom

Freedom does not come for free. It is a continuous labour and challenge. It is balancing between the visible and the invisible. It is an opportunity to bring your visions to live.

It is similar to the process of furnishing your appartment (which I love to do, and many of you too). Each element must find its place and interact with other elements in the same space.

It is thrilling to look at the empty canvas asking to be coloured/filled with passion.

It is an intuition beyond the rational mind...

It is Gotart :D

And like the old German name Gothart (Got=god, hart=tough, strong) these two principles are coming togerther in the proces of art.

I love to do: abstract painting, drawing, murals, mozaics, sculptures, artfully painted furniture, what ever your heart desires "

Body Painting

"Face and Face and Body painting is an amazing way to express your creativity and have fun!

Body painting is a form of temporary art that can be done on any part of the body. It is typically done using non-toxic, water-based paints that can easily be removed. Face and body painting sessions can last anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on the complexity of the design.

There are many reasons why you might want to consider a full  body painting session while on vacation. For one, it's a great way to create lasting memories with your loved ones. Body painting is also a great way to get in touch with your creative side, and it can be a lot of fun!"
