Atelier NIRIS was founded in Leiden, the Netherlands in 2019. The founder and principal architect of Atelier NIRIS, Xichen Sun, is personally and professionally focused on an international context, and the contemporary art scene. It is a reflection of her music and art family background from Shanghai, China.

She studied at Jiao Tong University(bachelor) in Shanghai, and Delft University of Technology(master) in the Netherlands. As a Dutch registered architect, she worked with a number of international architectural offices before founding Atelier NIRIS in Leiden.

Atelier NIRIS is an inter-disciplinary architectural design practice that looks from different perspectives. We have a global worldview to embrace the complexity and dilemmas of modern society.

The trinity structure of art, architecture, and real estate is the core value of Atelier NIRIS. We believe in the concept of quality time, quality space, quality portfolio. The realization of any one of the three is not possible without the other two. The three-dimensional approach leads to not only a single piece of fine art, a delicate architectural design, or a successful real estate project. Therefore, Atelier NIRIS sets strict quality control in delightful experience, space design, and investment decisions.
